In a world where everyone judges,
I hope you look deeper into my soul
and ask me the questions that everyone avoids
when it’s easier to just make assumptions.
I hope you look at me as the person I’m becoming.
I’m not my family.
I’m not their past.
I’m not even my past anymore.
I hope you look at me and see my rebirth.
I hope you understand that my life before you
is not a life I relate to anymore.
It’s not a life I even recognize.
I’ve never felt more connected to myself
the way I am now.
I hope you know that this is who I am now
this is who I want to be.
I hope you don’t let your assumptions
push you away too soon.
I hope you’re not like everyone else.
I hope you always talk to me
and know that I will tell you the truth.
I hope you know that it’s easier for me
to be honest now because I’m changing
and everything else before you
feels like another life,
another planet,
another universe.
In a world where everyone judges
I hope you look at me and understand
because you know what it’s like
to be misunderstood too.
To be judged.
To be broken by a life
you did not choose.
In a world where everyone judges,
I hope you know that I won’t judge you.
I hope you know that I will also forget
the life you had before me
and I hope we can both start over
and maybe, just maybe
we’ll find everything we’ve been looking for
in each other.

One day, if you haven’t already, you’re going to meet someone and immediately realize that you’ve found a soul friend.

She’s the friend that you can message at any time of the day and you’ll surely get a reply.

She’s the friend that will leave you a random message saying that you should make sure not to do anything too crazy and that she’s always there if you need anyone to talk to.

She’s the friend that will tell you to text her when you get home so she knows that you arrived safely.

She’s the friend that lets you gush about the guy you’re crushing on, but laughs at you because you two have never even spoken.

She’s the friend that reminds you that you can do anything as long as you have the guts to go for it.

She’s the friend that you can talk to about your dreams.

She’s the friend that will laugh at you when you fall, but is also the first one to pick you up.

She’s the friend that will tell you that she’ll punch the air out of the boy who keeps on hurting you.

She’s the friend that will tell you that it’s all going to be okay.

She’s the friend that always says she loves you, and shows it with every action.

She’s the friend that knows everything you’ve been through.

She’s the friend that knows your deepest, darkest secrets but never judges you.

She’s the friend that reminds you that you deserve so much better.

She’s the friend that always says, “I got you,” and actually means it.

She’s the friend that tells you that you are strong and that she believes in you.

She’s the friend that reminds you to eat when you’re too busy to remember on your own.

She’s the friend that tells you that true friendship can’t be measured by how long you’ve known each other.

She’s the friend that made you believe you can do anything.

If you’re lucky enough to have this person in your life already — thank them, for it makes growing up and getting hurt and falling in love and simply just being, so much easier, so much more manageable, when you have someone like that by your side.

I need you to know that it gets better.

I need you to know that the way you flay your heart open for the world is brave, that the way in which you refuse to be anything but soft, even when you feel like you may just break under the weight of feeling, is why you are needed here. I need you to know that beautiful things are vanishing each day, and I am proud of you for fighting to ensure that your soul is not one of them. You need to keep fighting.
I need you to know that you will find the places that leave every tender part of you feeling calm and at peace with who you are. You will find the places that inspire everything inside of you to surge and ache with the hope and the beauty of being alive. These places, they are not where you were born, but they will be where you are reborn. You will know when you have found them. My god, will you know.

I need you to know that there are others like you in this world; others who are messy hearted, others who feel things intensely, and without hesitation, others who cannot contain all that they hold within the worlds of their mind because they have only ever known how to pour, how to shatter, how to give and give and give. I need you to know that you will find these people, and they will become your family — you will take care of each other. You will grow together, in the moments between breaths, in the stunning silence that blankets your souls when you connect with the fact that in a world of billions, in the middle of all this noise, you found each other.

But most of all, I need you to know that we are all here, together, dealing with what is dark and light within us. I need you to know that you aren't alone. I need you to know that you are going to survive this. I need you to know that one day, you’re going to be sitting in a place you love, surrounded by people who inspire you, and you’re going to think back to the storms, and the hurricanes that rattled through your bones, and you are going to smile. The clarity will wash over you. You will be free. You will be free. — @rainbowsalt

We used ‘‘I love you’’ like an apology for all of the things we knew we were doing to wound each other, like a final attempt at keeping the fire from burning out, like two beggars just gripping at each other’s limbs.

I love you — despite hurting you.

I love you — despite judging you.

I love you — despite being incapable of loving myself.

It took us years to understand that love was not meant to justify hurt; that love alone was never meant to be used as a means of vindicating the problems we didn’t fight to change. In the end, we thought that love would save us from ourselves, but after ages of misuse, the only thing that needed saving was love itself.

See, with you I learned that sometimes love was not enough. With you I learned that even the most passionate love needed work, that two people who were head over heels for one another still needed to make an effort. They still needed to try, they still needed to nurture each other outside of words, and outside of fire and flame and intensity and impulsion.

With you, I learned that sometimes the best way to love someone, was to simply love yourself more — to simply walk away, to save yourself the pain of trying to patch and sew up something that was never going to be fixed; something that was beyond repair. With you, I learned that sometimes loving someone did not always mean that you were going to have a future with them, did not always mean that you should stay.

With you I learned that loving someone sometimes did not always mean forever, did not always mean that things were okay.

Life is too short to fall for people who don’t love you loudly, or for relationships that don’t set fire to your soul.

Our time on this earth is impermanent, and in the short years we must love fearlessly.

The person you’re meant to be with will challenge you, will push you, will make you crazy and happy and confused, and show you what real, complicated love is.

The person you’re meant to be with will terrify you because they make you feel something.

So this is what you need to know about love—you must always chase the person who scares you. Don’t settle for comfort because it’s familiar. Don’t be content with what you know because there’s a world out there waiting for you. And life’s too short not to pursue that.

Fall for the person who terrifies you because they have new ways of looking at the world, because they are different, because there is some unexplainable connection that is pulling you back to him or her, no matter how much you try to deny it.

Fall for the person who terrifies you because you feel something when you look into his or her eyes. and because scary is a change, a challenge, and both of those things will help you grow.
Fall for the person who terrifies you because what the hell else is our purpose on this earth than to love and love foolishly, fearlessly, fully?

Life is too short to hold yourself back from feeling something deeply. Life’s too short to deny your heart the pleasure of falling into someone, and giving them your soul. Life’s too short to pretend that you’ll find love where it’s comfortable and easy, because in all reality, love will never be easy. And that’s the most beautiful part.

Life’s too short not to pursue people that scare you, because those people are the ones who will change your life. And we’re all searching for that love that will alter our entire lives.

It’s waiting for you, go get it.

When it comes to endings, I have learned that they don’t always mean you’ve failed at something. I learned that endings can sometimes open new doors for better beginnings and close old doors that weren’t going to lead us anywhere in the first place. They force us to find a new home, new friends, new lovers and they force us to restore ourselves.
I’m slowly learning to let things end when they should instead of wasting my time and energy trying to make broken things work.
I’m slowly learning to accept endings as a dear part of life instead of looking at them as failures or meltdowns.
I’m slowly learning to end things that are no longer working instead of poisoning myself by holding on to the toxicity of it all.
I’m slowly learning to let things end because some things are not meant to last forever. Some things only last for a little while. Some people are just here to teach us a lesson and then leave.
I’m slowly learning to let thing end because endings aren’t as terrifying as I thought. Endings are safe. Endings are cleansing. Endings are necessary.
I’m slowly learning to say goodbye to things and people I don’t want to say goodbye to because I need to make room in my life for better ones, for more loving ones, for the right ones.
I’m slowly learning to celebrate endings the same way I celebrate new beginnings because endings hold blessings too.
I’m slowly learning to let things end. I’m slowly learning that there’s so much freedom in endings. So much hope.

Whether you are stuck in a crowded train or just taking a sip of your favorite drink.
Whether you are having a rough day or just in need of motivation to get out of bed.
Whether you are in middle of something important or just scrolling your feed to take a break from your typical routine.
Whatsoever you are doing right now, take a moment for yourself, just a few minutes. Take your time and think of all those little things that makes you happy.
Those long early morning walks you took because the weather was too good.
That favourite series you watched for the hundredth time because it leaves you with the same laughter everytime you watch it.
That song you can't resist but do your little movement shamelessly in the middle of street.
The days you took off to go to that bookstore or coffeeshop or a little trip for yourself that waited your visit for a long time.
Or the days you took off to just sit back doing nothing.
The extra long shower you took or the fresh air that caressed you after having a long day.
The nights you dossed off listening to the sound of rain hitting your window pane.
Striking off a book's name from your
to-read list.
Buying yourself your favourite pizza or your favorite drink when you had your tough time.
The last time you spent time kiting, blowing bubbles, cycling, playing kabaddi with waves and reliving some of your chlidhood memories.
All those little things always find its way to bring a smile on your face so effortlessly. Take a break and do those kind of things often just because you feel like or sometimes for no reason at all. You deserve all these happiness and they make your soul vibrant.
As I sat back and remembered all the little things that made me happier, I realised they aren't any little.
