I hate......H A T E.....posting these of myself......but I want people to see that you CAN get results from home! I’m a super busy Mom with no extra time for the gym, so this works perfectly for me. .
.
This is my progress thus far! I’m definitely leaner and tighter......not as....ummmm.....jiggly.  And I see a big difference in my booty and back. .
.
So, stats:  I’ve lost 1 pound, which is good because my goal was not to lose weight.  My goal is/was to get stronger and leaner, which I am.  I’ve lost 1/2 an inch around my chest, I’ve lost 1 inch in my waist, I’ve lost 2 inches in my hips, I’ve increased each arm a bit (baby biceps! ), and my thighs have evened out (my left thigh was a lot bigger than my right). .
.
No major physical changes in Phase 1, but MAN can I FEEL them! I feel muscles growing that I didn’t know existed.  I am SO much stronger than I was on Day 1.  I really can’t believe what I’m able to do now.  Phase 2 is where we see some real changes happen! 
.

This plan that I’m on really comes full circle and I can do it in the comfort of my own home.  I have the workouts that were filmed live (and are really hilarious lol), an amazing top fitness trainer as my coach, a nutritional bracket designed just for me, meal plan options, a superfood shake with everything I need, daily schedules to follow, different fitness support groups on FB, daily check-ins with those groups, motivational videos to watch, information to help me learn and grow, and so much more. .
.
Programs are on S A L E this month!!! So if you want in, NOW is an awesome time!! I’m so glad that I started this journey.  I seriously feel like a new person. .

When working with people with Diastasis and weak connective tissue, most know to avoid crunches and sit ups as they create too much intra-abdominal pressure. -
They also know that working the “core” and including more isometrics works well as an option.
-
However this usually results in planks but not all planks are created equal and certainly, not all women with a DR should do them.
-
If you have weak connective tissue, prone positions only add more strain on the linea alba that has been stretched because you are working against gravity.
-
Planks are like any other movement and should be approached only after someone can maintain tension in their linea alba and start slow I.e four point kneel, crouching tiger etc.

Almost 7 month after... Marla ist bald 7 Monate alt und das ist mein Bauch. Ohne Filter, ohne Verschönerung.
Er ist wabbelig und hängt ein wenig. Man sieht die Linea Nigra und Härchen. Außerdem habe ich Schwangerschaftsstreifen. Ich mochte meinen Bauch vor der Schwangerschaft sehr gerne auch wenn er durch die Endometriose einmal im Monat so anschwoll, dass man meinen konnte ich wäre im 7 Monat schwanger.

Nun die Wahrheit zum Postpartum Bauch:
Ich kann ihn nicht besonders leiden. Ich kann keine sehr anliegenden Oberteile tragen, und wenn ich mich setze dann kneift meine Hose mich ab und zu mal in den Bauch...weil er eben sehr weich ist.
Will ich deshalb eine Schönheitsoperation? Nein! Ich finde mein Bauch passt zu meiner neuen Rolle. Ich bin Mutter und fast 30. Ich brauche keinen super tollen Body...bin halt nicht in shape.
Werde ich wieder Sport machen? Ja! Werde ich speziell den Bauch trainieren? Nein! Denn meine Problemzone liegt eine Etage tiefer. Und die größte Problemzone hatte ich in meinem Kopf. Mein Selbstbewusstsein war echt nicht besonders ausgeprägt. Aber durch Marla ist mir klar geworden, dass Äußerlichkeiten rein gar nichts zählen.
Es kommt darauf an gesund zu sein, sowohl körperlich als auch mental. Und wenn ich meinen Körper nun mit anderen Frauen vergleichen würde dann bräuchte ich dringend einen Eingriff...in Form einer Therapie.

Liebe ich meinen Körper? Finde ich ihn schön? Nein...aber darauf kommt es auch nicht an.

Since birth, do your abdominals dome when lifting your head up or sitting up from a back lying position?

This is a common result of Diastasis Rectus Abdominis (DRA) when the connective tissue (linea alba) that holds the rectus abdominis softens during pregnancy and stretches sideways, causing the rectus abs to separate.
-
A small study showed that this happens to 100% of pregnant women, however, after birth, you don’t need to suffer as many do.

Once the baby is delivered, some natural closing  occurs but the main focus should be strengthening the linea alba and creating tension across the abdominal wall so you improve your ability to manage intra-abdominal pressure and minimize doming.

Weak connective tissue can cause associated back pain, hip pain and pelvic floor dysfunction too.

It’s not about “closing” the gap but more about improving function so you can have a strong core AND avoid many pregnancy related conditions too.

I haven’t been able to workout since my surgery so I’m feeling extra fluffy.
I MISS the gym. I should be good to go in another 2 weeks or so. In the mean time,  I’m drowning my sorrows in Häagen-Dazs chocolate peanut butter ice cream aka the most delicious food ever created!
